At Johnson Reed, as we’re sure you’re aware, our working lives are normally to do with raising finances. But on a sunny day last month, some of us left office matters behind and set out to raise aspirations, money and even blood pressures instead, all in aid of generating much needed funds for The Stroke Association.
The venue was the glorious Tatton Park in Cheshire. The event was a sponsored 15K run in aid of the Association. The race started at 11am on Sunday 11 November, and three brave participants dusted off their trainers and dug out their sweatbands to join in with the fun. Our own Mark Johnson and Paul, our external auditor were joined by a client of ours, James Garner, on the starting line. Being a client of course, we had to let him have the glory of beating us. So even though Mark is six-foot-six and has extremely long legs, James managed to stay ahead and Mark was only able to catch him up in the last two kilometres. With 15K run in 109 minutes, his was a very respectable 19th position out of around 300 participants.
Of course, we’d like to thank all our clients and introducers that sponsored us for this worthy cause. And our prizes? We all walked away with a free Stroke Association tee shirt or running vest, a goody bag and of course, the inevitable medal.
