After having made a name for himself in Los Angeles, the founder of LA Fitness – Fred Turok – and business partner David Stalker (formerly of UK Active) have opened their first indoor trampoline park in west London. Their name? Appropriately, Oxygen Freejumping.
This new start trampoline park harnesses the massive expertise of both Fred and David, as well as nearly £10 million in investment and fundraising, to create an ambitious plan to have 14 new clubs within the next 24 months. Their ultimate goal – after raising £15 million over the next 2 years – is to be the big name in indoor trampolining.
In fact, the duo have been making such a name for themselves over here, that the Telepgraph covered their opening in May, and the Guardian more recently in September..
Dave Stalker, the UK founder of the duo, approached us to help finance their first park with new trampoline equipment. We were able to help Oxygen source the financing to allow them to open the Acton club, and now that their model is complete and working, they are able to set plans in motion for their 2nd club down on the south coast.
Having already established their first location, the team are rolling ahead with expansion plans, and Johnson Reed are an integral part, as all cash will be used for building the new premises, with Johnson Reed funding the new equipment, supplied by gymnastic equipment experts Continental Sports Ltd, based in Huddersfield.
Mark Johnson, our Managing Director, has met with the management team and seen the current business – not to mention the queues out the door!
We’re really excited to be part of Oxygen Freejumping’s plans for the UK. This is a prime business with plans to be the market leader, and we are thrilled they have chosen us to help finance all their equipment. We’re able to help Fred and Dave get the finance they need quickly in order to secure their plans, and we’re looking forward to watching the rollout over the next few years, and even having a bounce ourselves!
