Seven Restaurant and Cafe Bar opens its doors in Derby
Johnson Reed are delighted to announce the opening of a new restaurant and cafe bar in Derby, called Seven. Based in the iPro stadium, home of Derby County FC, and focusing on "modern British" food, Seven comprises a 100-cover restaurant, plus space for private dining. We have been involved with Seven for a little while, helping to finance their launch and all equipment based costs including catering, furniture, fixtures and fittings, a sound system, security system, and EPOS.
The Marketplace Fish Bar chooses Johnson Reed
The Marketplace Fish Bar is a well-established father and son operation, having been traded in the family for 30 years, and has an excellent reputation locally for incredible food and excellent customer service. The restaurant has recently undergone a full refurbishment, and now looks stunning! We were approached by The Marketplace to help them get equipment finance for a new frying range to help continue making the renowned food, and to help the owners pay for the premesis refurbishment, rather than having to fork out upfront cash lumps for equipment. By using leasing, The Marketplace can use their operational budget to pay for the equipment over a fixed period of time, rather than having to pay upfront. This also gives some pretty great tax benefits!
Johnson Reed continue relationship with TaxAssist accountants
When it comes to dealing with businesses, we have worked with both small one-man bands, and large multi-national corporations. Sitting somewhere in the middle there are franchisees like TaxAssist Accountants, the UK's well known franchise of knowledgeable tax accountants. The franchise has grown to over 200 franchisees, servicing more than 47,000 clients nationwide! We have worked with a few different TaxAssist franchisees over the years, helping to provide equipment finance for new ranges of both IT hardware and software, to allow them to remain current with IT standards and continue to offer their services to their clients.
Rock and Roll at The Rock and Sole Plaice
It's not often we get asked to provide equipment finance for a client with a rich history and a place in the history books, so when we were asked to help The Rock and Sole Plaice, apparently London's oldest chip shop and tourist attraction... well we couldn't say no. Based in Covent Garden - home to many of London's best known theatres - this chippy has been on Endell Street since the 19th century, and has been a family business since World War 2. With so much character and class, this was one of the jobs we were eager to complete, and to help write another chapter in their history.
Software boost to finance management company
When your business runs from an IT-based system, you need to make sure it remains up-to-date and serving yourself and your customers in the way it needs to. One of the biggest problems with systems of this type is out-of-date software and procedures, causing inefficiencies and reducing your profitability. That's why when we were put in touch with a Financial Management company in the North West, who needed help upgrading their software, we knew that we would be able to provide the finance they were looking for. We helped the company gain over £30,000 of finance to help fund the acquisition of software licenses to allow their staff to process finance and debt repayment scheduling applications, where they were unable to before.
IT Finance a breath of fresh air
We were recently asked to work with a leading air conditioning supplier in the UK, to help provide new IT hardware to update their ageing infrastructure. Our client is a large nation-wide corporation, with some high-calibre clients, so having a working and efficient IT system is essential to their continued success and innovation. We helped provide over £75,000 worth of IT hardware finance, to allow them to purchase new servers, desktops, various pieces of IT hardware, and new software.
IT Hardware boost for London care home
When it comes to caring for the elderly, rules and regulations on standards and quality of equipment can be extremely tight – and for good reason. No less important than medical equipment is IT hardware and software – the backbone of infrastructure at care...

Moore extends Monsterz reach
Having successfully established his brand in Ruswarp, near the North Yorkshire seaside town of Whitby, Brian Moore has taken the plunge to open a second Mini Monsterz site, in Scarborough. He tells Indoor Play why now is the right time to expand and why he went back to previous partners to help facilitate the new site When Little Hoppers closed its doors in Scarborough in April, it was the second of the town’s indoor play areas to shut in 12 months. Located in an industrial estate on the edge of the sleepy seaside resort, the 9,000 square foot facility was taken over on a 20-year lease and re-opened after a significant cash injection as the second in the Mini Monsterz stable of family entertainment centres.
